Production Race Series
The Production Race Series is where street built cars meet real track action. Designed for grassroots racers who’ve always dreamed of going legit, this series gives everyday drivers a safe, structured, and affordable pathway into competitive motorsport. Whether you’re stepping off the street or stepping up from track days, the Production Race Series is your chance to put your build and your skills to the test.
We focus on accessibility and attitude over budgets and badges. You’ll race in classes matched to your car and driver’s level, connect with mentors and seasoned drivers, and be part of a community that shares tools, advice, and a genuine passion for driving. From your first grid start to your first podium, we’ll help you get there: safely, legally, and proudly representing the next generation of New Zealand racers.
REGULATIONS
Schedule A
1. Wheel sizes are free but must fit under the guard.
2. Tyres must be Production Tyres – WOF standard-No Full Slicks or Full Wets
o Must be to LTSA standard with tread across ¾ of the tyre
3. Cars must be of WOF standard if no Roll cage fitted.
4. Race Seat & Harness are compulsory. Motorsport MSNZ manual- as per Schedule A
5. Safety equipment as per Motorsport MSNZ manual- as per Schedule A
6. Groups will be: Group A: 0-2300cc; Group B: 2301-3300cc; Group C: 3301cc and over.
7. Break out caps will be enforced to regulate fairness. Hamptons 1:19 Group A, 1:13 Group B & C . Taupo 1:40 for all Groups. If you exceed these times, you will incur a time penalty of 10 seconds per lap.
8. One way Race radio also compulsory for Hampton Downs and Taupo motorsport Park.
9. If you know your laps times from previous season, please use that to enter the right group according to breakout times.
Schedule B
1. Series Entry for 2025/2026 Season is $150NZD payable via Bank Transfer only. This fee includes a Production Race Series T Shirt.
2. We reserve the right to remove Championship Points based on Penalties and Un-sportsmanship like behaviour regardless of the CoC decision – maximum 50 points.
3. Class and sponsor decals must be displayed where directed by class officials.
Decals & Numbers
Your car will be required to wear a Production Race Series window banner. Our sponsor details will also be on the banner. You will not earn points if you have not paid the Series entry fee prior to Round 1. The points will only be allocated from the round that the Fee is received. There will be no backdating on previous round points if late payment of series entry fee. You may be asked to change your Race number should we have a duplicate.
